Refurbishment and restoration of the last MF590 off production

The Last Massey Ferguson 590 built??

Its certificate certainly suggests so.

Never retailed until the closure of Banner Lane this MF590 was used for site maintenance and was bought with it's snowplough.

The tractor was a workhorse and although in good mechanical condition, was drastically in need of some TLC.

The rot around the doors had taken hold

The picture in the cab is a common one for a workhorse

Plans and budget were set for the restoration of this time piece but as with all well laid plans they were altered dramatically when our customer told us that he would like to take the finished exhibit to the Royal Show 2008 to show on the 'Made in Coventry' stand
THIS GAVE US THREE WEEKS!!!!!

As usual the tractor was dismantled and shot blasted.
Repairs to the bodywork were made.

The door frame and cab areas below the door were given a great deal of time and attention to put pay to the corrosion.

Gradually the tractor was repainted and gradually rebuilt.

We have re apholstered the interior ourselves by hand

THIS TRACTOR WILL BE AVAILABLE TO LOOK AT ON OUR STAND AT THE ASHBY-DE-LA-ZOUCH AGRICULTURAL SHOW
SUNDAY 13TH JULY 2008
